Audio and Video
Delivering audio and video content can be as rewarding as costly. There are very few situations where you will want such content to begin playing automatically. Most of the time a visitor would like to make that choice themselves, it gives their computer time to get ahead with the download or connect to the stream, and they have time to turn off their music or whatever else they might be doing. Annoying a visitor is usually bad.
The best way to handle multimedia files is to let the visitor remain in control. They will know if their connection speed (or their own patience) is enough to wait an hour for a fullscreen presentation or if they want to go with a smaller version of the file. If you don't give them multiple options then you will lose a few or maybe very many visitors quickly.
It may take hours to record or convert some media files, but it's often an incredibly easy task to create 3 options to present to your visitors. One large high quality version of a file and one smaller minimal version that both play in an embedded file player, then also include a link to download the file so they can move on and look around the rest of your site while they wait if that's what they choose.
Our designers are experienced in filetype conversions and optimizing those files for display on the web. Whether you have a dvd to mail us or just email an attachment, we can add it to your site in such a way that it keeps your visitors happy.
